While no one doubts Royals' fans' commitment to their team, especially after a 29-year postseason hiatus, it seems that Giants' fans are more interested in following their team to the World Series. Looking at total search traffic for the first game each team will host in the World Series (Game 1 at Kansas City on 10/21 and Game 3 at San Francisco on 10/24), searches from SFO to MCI for the opener have increased 672% over the past four days, while searches from MCI to SFO for game 3 have only increased 567%. This means that, overall, the Giants' fans are 33% more interested in flying for their team. While both teams have shown similar rises in searches, fans in San Francisco seemed to have quadrupled searches for a Kansas City opener on the 11th, when the Giants defeated the Cardinals 3-0. Luckily, it seems their wishful thinking paid off. **Data and Methodology ** The data presented in this analysis comes from Hopper’s combined feed of Global Distribution Service (GDS) data sources which includes billions of trips per day. Demand is represented as the number of queries not actual ticket purchases, and is calibrated across all GDS sources for each market.
