-Airlines participating in fare sale: US Airways, American and Delta
-Start of fare sale: August 5

-Conditions: Sale only applies to flights with departure dates this fall
-Airfare savings: Up to 25% lower than the average prices reported in Hopper's flight reports
Americans looking for a beach escape this fall should seriously consider jetting off to Aruba, as US Airways, American and, to a lesser extent, Delta, are all offering heavily discounted flights to the Caribbean isle.
Those weary of traveling to the Caribbean in the fall (hurricane season) can leave their reservations behind, as Aruba is located well south of the hurricane belt and enjoys excellent weather in November.
Most of the sales began on August 5 with a sudden 25% decrease in prices across the board as US Airways and American lowered prices on their routes. Delta lowered their prices shortly afterward. However, Delta's connections to Aruba are less convenient than those of their competitors. Of the routes on sale, only the connection from Philadelphia to Aruba is a faster bet on Delta than the connection on offer from US Airways/American.
The sale is valid on flights departing this fall from the following airports: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Hartford, Newark Liberty, Philadelphia and Washington DC Dulles. Don't expect this sale to last longer than one week, though, as these types of fare sales are typically used by airlines' sales teams to temporarily boost demand on routes.
