Las Vegas is America's most popular travel destination for a number of well-known reasons: gambling, year-round sun, awesome pool parties, decadent buffets and nightlife that just doesn't quit. But if there's one thing every visitor to Las Vegas could use more of, it's cold hard cash. The hotels are a good deal, but Champagne ain't cheap and neither are the high-roller tables. So, with that in mind, here are seven tips from the Hopper research team on how to find cheap flights to Las Vegas and save up to $365 on a round-trip ticket.

1. The cheapest time to book a flight to Las Vegas is 14 days in advance, saving up to $200

Travelers looking for the best deals will want to book their flights to Las Vegas at least 14 days in advance, as prices rise dramatically within two weeks of departure. Travelers booking early can save up to $200 over last-minute travelers. The savings for booking further in advance than two weeks, however, are negligible. So travelers should plan well, but not too well.

2. The cheapest day to fly to Las Vegas is on a Sunday, saving up to $76

Travelers who are willing to depart on a Saturday can save up to $76 on their flights to Las Vegas. That may not be enough to make your bachelorette party give up its Friday night in Sin City, but for students, retirees and those with more flexible schedules, it's a pretty good deal. Remember that this is per ticket, too. Sunday is by far the worst day to depart and, in this case, just one day's difference can cost serious money.

3. Save up to $54 by returning on a Tuesday

Likewise, travelers who book their return flights for Tuesday can save an additional $54 on their flights. Saturday is actually the worst day to return, as business travelers (reluctantly, we're sure) return to their home cities at the end of the work week.

4. The cheapest day to buy a flight to Las Vegas is on a Wednesday, saving up to $11

Travelers who book their Las Vegas flights on a Wednesday can save up to $11 on airfare. It's not much, but it's a free $11 just for purchasing your flights on the right day. The worst day to book is on Saturday, so no matter how lame your local nightlife seems, wait until hump day to make a move.

5. The cheapest time to fly to Las Vegas is in August or October, saving up to $25

Flights to Las Vegas peak in price in February, March and June and are at their lowest in October and August. Travelers who plan their trip in October or August instead of February, March and June can save more than $25 on their round-trip tickets. As far as weather goes, October is an excellent time to visit Las Vegas: highs are in the low 80s and there's not much rain. August, of course, is blazing hot, but there are some pool parties in town that should be able to cool off visitors.
