Want to go to Europe but aren't sold on a specific country? Backpacking and want to find out which country is the cheapest for you to fly into? Or do you just like maps? (We know the feeling. We love maps.)
Below, Hopper found the cheapest European countries to fly to from the United States, in one handy color-coded map. Note that these flight prices are averages, which means that depending on the airline, airport, or season, you could be paying a lot more — or less.
Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, and Norway reign supreme, with super-cheap flights from the United States on Norwegian Air, WOW, and Icelandair bringing prices down. If you're on the East Coast, you can expect to pay as little as $530 to these countries! Just time your flight right for a midweek-to-midweek journey.
The countries that are red, such as Slovakia, are more easily (and cheaply) accessed via train. And the United Kingdom is one of the most expensive destinations in Europe — no surprise there.
