Today, travel booking app Hopper announced that Travel Deal Tuesday, sometimes called "Travel Tuesday", is returning on November 28th for the seventh year in a row. Travel Deal Tuesday is a national shopping event where consumers can expect to see more deals on travel than any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sales period.

Hopper collects 25 to 30 billion flight and hotel price quotes every day and has built a huge historical archive of trillions of prices from over the past several years. The company analyzed its historical pricing data and found that over the past seven years, Travel Deal Tuesday, the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has been the biggest day for travel deals during the holiday sales week.

On Travel Deal Tuesday last year, Hopper saw more deals than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday – including nearly 78% more deals than on Cyber Monday and 2X more than on Black Friday. If you’re eyeing an upcoming trip, Travel Deal Tuesday is one of the best days of the year to book.

Travel Deal Tuesday by the Numbers:

  • Last year, Hopper sent close to 2 million “buy” notifications on Travel Deal Tuesday, detecting an average of 20 deals per second on this travel holiday – that’s 42% more than the average day!

  • Over 3,000 more routes from US airports were on sale on Travel Deal Tuesday, compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

  • 3X more trips were planned on Travel Deal Tuesday compared to an average Tuesday, and 2-3X more trips were planned than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

  • Travelers scored deals over 60% off trips to Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, London, Lisbon & more during Travel Deal Tuesday 2022.

What deals to expect?

This year, Hopper is forecasting amazing deals up to 80% off popular destinations such as Hawaii, Orlando, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and more. On top of already lower prices on this day, Hopper will have exclusive hotel deals up to 50% off in nearly 100 dream destinations including:

  • Las Vegas

  • Miami

  • Bali

  • Tokyo

  • London

  • Paris

  • The Bahamas

Over the coming weeks, Hopper will be announcing dozens of new destinations that will be on sale leading up to Travel Deal Tuesday.

"Travel Deal Tuesday has consistently become one of the best days of the year to book travel. Given the massive holiday shopping and consumer savings on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, travel providers are motivated to drop prices during the holiday sales week to take advantage of the consumer spending mindset, and incentivize travelers at a time when travel demand is low.” said Hayley Berg, Lead Economist at Hopper. “Our data shows that on Travel Deal Tuesday 2022, there were more deals than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined and Hopper detected an average of 20 deals per second on this day.”
