Travel Deal Tuesday is Back on December 3rd with the Biggest Travel Deals of the Post-Thanksgiving Holiday Shopping Period

Today, the travel platform, Hopper announced that Travel Deal Tuesday (www.TravelDealTuesday.com) – also referred to as “Travel Tuesday” – is returning on December 3rd for the eighth year in a row. Travel Deal Tuesday is a national shopping event where consumers can expect to see more deals on travel than any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sales period. 

This year, Hopper will have discounts up to 50% off and deals on over 10,000 hotel properties in destinations around the world, available exclusively on the Hopper app and Hopper.com. 

Hopper collects 25 to 30 billion flight and hotel price quotes every day and has built a massive historical archive of trillions of prices from over the past several years. The company analyzed its historical pricing data and found that over the last eight consecutive years, Travel Deal Tuesday, the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has been the biggest day for travel deals during the holiday sales week. 

During Travel Deal Tuesday 2023, Hopper saw more deals than on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined – including nearly 83% more deals than Cyber Monday and more than double the deals available on Black Friday. Last year, select Hopper users saved over 75% off domestic trips and as much as 55% off international trips.

Travel Deal Tuesday 2023 by the Numbers:

• Hopper sent millions of buy notifications on Travel Deal Tuesday last year, detecting an average of 10 deals per second on this travel holiday – that’s 42% more than the average day!

• Over 3X more trips were planned on Travel Deal Tuesday than on Black Friday and more than 2.5X the number of trips than on Cyber Monday. 

• Over 3,300 more routes from U.S. airports were on sale on Travel Deal Tuesday, compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. That’s 36% more routes on sale than Cyber Monday and 62% more routes on sale compared to Black Friday.

• Last year, about half of Hopper’s flight and hotel customers booked trips departing for the year ahead, while the other half booked flights and hotels for last-minute trips in late November or December. 

• Travelers scored deals over 40% off popular destinations such as Orlando, Dallas, Cancun, Puerto Rico and more by booking on Hopper.
