Travel Deal Tuesday, the biggest travel shopping day of the post-Thanksgiving sales period, returns on December 2nd

Today, the travel platform, Hopper and its B2B division, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), have announced that Travel Deal Tuesday (www.traveldealtuesday.com) – also referred to as “Travel Tuesday” – is back on December 2nd for the ninth consecutive year. The event will feature hundreds of participating travel brands, including airlines, hotels, car rentals, and DMO and tourism board partners, offering exclusive savings for travel shoppers this year.

Created by Hopper in 2017, Travel Deal Tuesday is a national shopping event where consumers can expect to see more deals on travel than on any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sales period. The company analyzed its historical pricing data and found that over the past nine consecutive years, Travel Deal Tuesday, the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has been the biggest day for travel deals during the post-holiday sales week.

This year, Travel Deal Tuesday will bring together dozens of popular travel brands, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Avianca Airlines, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Wyndham Vacation Club, and more, with deals available on leading travel sites, including Hopper, Tripadvisor, and others, offering deep discounts to consumers. During Travel Deal Tuesday 2024, Hopper saw a record shopping and booking day across travel categories – including flights, hotels, and more, with 3.5x more trips planned on Travel Deal Tuesday compared to the previous Tuesday.

This year, travelers can expect to score incredible discounts on dozens of destinations & hotel properties in major destinations, including Las Vegas, Florida, Nashville, Sonoma, Palm Springs, The Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, and more. The deals will be available on popular travel platforms, including Hopper, Tripadvisor, and others.

Travel Deal Tuesday 2024 by the numbers:

• According to Hopper’s analysis, over the past nine years, Travel Deal Tuesday, the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has been the biggest day for travel deals during the holiday shopping period.

• 3.5x more trips were planned on Travel Deal Tuesday compared to the previous Tuesday.  

• Nearly 3x more trips were planned than on Black Friday, and 2x more trips were planned than on Cyber Monday.

• Half of Hopper's customers who booked hotel stays during Travel Day Tuesday 2024, took advantage of low prices to book last-minute December getaways.

• 43% of Hopper’s customers who booked flights on Travel Day Tuesday 2024 purchased a flight departing in December, taking advantage of low prices to book a last-minute holiday trip.
