Demand for flights to Paris during the games has already increased by more than 60% compared to this time last year, as has demand to cities near Paris for the same set of summer weeks. This summer will truly be a once in a lifetime experience to see the world’s best athletes on the stage of one of the world’s most famous cities.

Where to Fly Into?

Paris is always packed with tourists from around the world in summer months, but this year will bring even more travelers. For those thinking of making a trip to the international games, consider flying into an alternate city in Europe and taking a train to Paris. Avoid the crowds at Charles de Gualle airport and see more of Europe while you travel! We’ve rounded up a few of the top alternate cities to consider flying into, and their distance from Paris by train. Overall, prices for these cities are trending lower than at this time in 2023, signaling price relief from highs last summer.

Where to Stay?

4 star hotels in the Hopper app are averaging ~$400 per night for the Summer Games. There are deals available as low as $200 per night for 3 star hotels in Paris for stays during the Summer Games.

Hopper's Recommendations (available to book on the Hopper app):

  • Hôtel Maison Mère

  • Hotel Maison Saintonge

  • Hôtel des Academies et des Arts

When to Book

Flights: Book by April. Prices are still high for trips to Europe this summer and are likely to drop in the first few months of the new year. Plan to book your trip to Paris, or an alternate airport, by April at the latest. Being flexible on dates or destination airports will guarantee you get the best prices for your trip.

Consider flying into an alternate city and visiting Paris by train to save on both airfare and crowds. Flights to Paris for key dates in the games schedule will likely sell out quickly this spring, as athletes qualify and spectators plan their trips. Alternate airports around Europe will offer lower prices, with access via train or bus to Paris for the dates you most want to see the events.

Hotels: Book now! Many hotels in Paris are already sold out for the peak event weeks of summer. If you can’t find a hotel in your price range available now, consider looking in neighborhoods outside of Paris which offer easy access to the city via the metro.

Train Tickets: Plan to book in the next few months as trains are likely to sell out as the games approach.
