Dreaming of taking a vacation, but don’t want to break the bank? You’re in luck. Today, travel booking app Hopper announced that Travel Deal Tuesday (www.TravelDealTuesday.com), is returning on December 3rd for the third year in a row, with bigger and better discounts on travel.

Travel Deal Tuesday is the best day in the post-Thanksgiving shopping period for consumers to find deals on travel, including both flights and hotels. Hopper collects 25 to 30 billion flight and hotel price quotes every day and has built a huge historical archive of trillions of prices from over the past several years. The company analyzed its historical pricing data and found that the Tuesday following Thanksgiving has consistently offered the most significant volume of deals that week.

Last year, Hopper saw more flights discounted on Travel Deal Tuesday than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined -- and consumers planned 80% more trips on this day compared to Black Friday and 40% more than on Cyber Monday.

Hopper sends almost 50 percent more deal notifications to users than the average day on Travel Deal Tuesday -- detecting an average of 18 deals per second on this travel holiday. Last year, Hopper users saved up to 70 percent off bucket-list destinations and saw tremendous flight deals. During Travel Deal Tuesday 2018, some of the best flight deals that Hopper customers scored included:

This year, Hopper is forecasting discounts on destinations like Tokyo, Sydney, Beijing, Iceland, Costa Rica, Cape Town, Montreal, and London. In addition to airfare, Hopper is expecting major savings on hotels. Hopper will have exclusive hotel rates lined up with savings ranging from $50 - $150 off hotel bookings.

"Travel Deal Tuesday has emerged as one of the best days to book travel because travel demand is low at the end of November and early December. Most travelers have already booked their travel home for the holidays, but have not yet started planning trips for the new year. Travel companies are able to incentivize consumers by offering amazing deals," said Hayley Berg, Economist at Hopper. "Our data shows that on Travel Deal Tuesday last year, consumers planned 80% more trips than on Black Friday and 40% more than on Cyber Monday. As more consumers shop, it will likely incentivize travel providers to offer bigger discounts for 2019."
